The kids let us sleep in until 8:00 a.m., except for Jayce he was awake a 7:00. We could hear him moving presents around in the living room. Mike kept Anna in the hall until I got in the living room so I could take pictures with my new camera!!! Mike finally let her loose and she came screaming and crying into the living room then she saw her toys and started jumping and screaming happily. It was so funny! Santa brought the kids a Wii and some games since they couldn't make up their minds this year. Anna got a kitchen and play food. She finally understood what was going on this year. She opened presents with the best of them.
We joined my brother and sisters, their kids, Judy, Phil, and Cindy for Lunch at my Mom and Dad's. We gave out presents there but ended up taking more home than we came with. So much for down sizing this year. Then over to Grandma Elaine's, she likes us to come and visit her and open our gifts there. We saw Mike's family earlier in the week.
I planned to make a turkey and all the fixings for dinner, so we headed home to get that started. Plus the kids were itching to play with their new toys. I got the turkey and stuffing in the oven, but an hour into it our power went off. So much for our Christmas dinner. The power didn't come back on for almost two hours. We ate shrimp, crackers and cheese, chocolate chip cookies and candy. Yum! It actually turned out to be a nice night. We lit every scented candle I had, our house smelled very interesting. Mike turned on christmas songs that were on his iphone, and the kids and I colored with the new crayons and color books. It was so peaceful, I'm almost glad the power went out. Merry Christmas!
