Jayce was "required" to do a science fair project this year. Yuck! The note he brought home first said it was optional, but then his teacher sent another note saying his class HAD to do it. Needless to say I was not thrilled at all. I went on sciencebuddies.com and found an easy idea using a product called Glow Germ. We ordered that and a little black light, and proceded to be scientific. I really hate doing these things because I feel like I have to do the project and my child just sits and watches. I made Jayce do as much as he could, I even made him come back and help when he would sneek away to play video games. Little stinker.
Our experiment tested hand sanitizer against soap. We rubbed our hands with the glow germ, took a picture, then washed one hand with the soap and water and used hand sanitizer on the other hand. Then we took another picture of the results.
He thought his project was one of the best in his class, and he got a participation ribbon. I'm glad that's over, until next year.
