I had Halle talked into a Luau Party for her Birthday this year but a week before her birthday she said she wanted a Hannah Montana Birthday. So we had to change everything. I was going to take Halle and a friend to see the Hannah movie that's in theaters, but when her list of friends got long I started having nightmares of taking a hord of 5 yr old girls to the movies. Change of plans. I spent a little time online gathering ideas, there was a plethora of information. Thanks to all the online moms who shared all their ideas. I stopped asking Halle for input since she was so indecisive, I have no patience for that. This is what I decided to do.
We invited 5 of Halle's friends over in the afternoon. We decorated the living room with Hannah/Rock Star decor. The fringy purple curtain thing I put up over the doorway lasted 1.2 seconds. Anna ripped it off. I turned on the Hannah Montana Concert DVD before the girls got there. We gave all the girls little VIP passes I printed to wear on lanyards.
I set up the table with goodie bags to begin with so they could use the bling/jewelry and lip gloss for the party. I started with the Hannah Montana paper dolls that I found online, I printed a set for each girl and let them decorate her outfits with crayons and colored pencils. That didn't last too long. Soon they were in the living room dancing to the DVD.
I got a Hannah iron on printable from the Disney Channel website and shrunk it down on the computer then printed in on a couple of sheets of iron on paper. I ironed it onto white T-shirts that you get in the boys underwear area, one for each girl. I also made little dress up skirts from extra fabric that was in the house. Then I let the girls tie on little charms to the belt to decorate it. We were going to do make overs too but we ran out of time. I let a couple of the girls that were there longer put on some blue eye shadow and some pink streaks in their hair, washable of course.
Halle did presents and then we had cupcakes and ice cream. It was utter chaos the entire time. Just when I thought I could handle it Mike came home from work and got them all riled up again yelling about stinky boys and chasing him. Then he directed them to Jayce and his friends outside and it was a free for all. Poor Jayce! At one point the girls came in the house all wet because one of the girls turned the hose on.
For her Birthday Cake I made a couple of white cakes with fresh strawberries and cream in the center and buttercream icing. I turned out really good and yummy! I decorated it with a Hannah Montana Microphone that we had and a picture of Hannah. I barely finished decorating the cake when everyone got there.
I think that nearly everyone we invited came. The cars were lined up and down the street. It was really fun to have everyone come over, luckily it was a nice night and a lot of us just hung out outside. It really turned out to be a nice birthday for Halle. Even though I was exhausted at the end of it all I had fun, and I'm glad that Halle had a fun Birthday.
