Doctors and McDonalds - 3/6/09

Halle and Anna had to have check ups at the Pediatrician's. Halle was having her Kindergarten check up and Anna her 2 yr check up. I promised Halle if she was brave we would all go to McDonald's and play. This is a big reward for my kids. I hardly ever let them go into the play places at restaurants. It's so noisy with all the kids yelling and screaming. Talk about headaches. I also dread having to climb up those tunnel things to get a kid out because they are scared or hurt, I don't fit, and I've had to do that before. It's not pretty.

Halle had to have 5 shots and a finger poke. She did the finger poke really well but cried quite a bit for the shots. I couldn't blame her for crying, I hate taking the kids for their shots. Halle is in great health except for a little ear infection. And no more shots until she is 12 or so. We are happy about that.

Anna Marie had to have 1 shot and she didn't let out a peep. She has a slight ear infection too, but otherwise a healthy girl. She's 30 lbs now, and is in the 75th percentile for kids her age. Pretty Normal. The Doctor did refer us to an eye surgeon because Anna's tear ducts haven't opened so we have to have that done. Yeah me!!

So after a long morning at Dr. Suzie's (Dr. Suzanne Holbrook) we were off to McDonald's. They chose the Dinosaur McDonald's. We have two near us and the kids identify them by the play room theme. Either the Dinosaur one or the Tree house one. I brought my book and my Ipod and let them play for 1 1/2 hours. They had a lot of fun, didn't eat very much, and I got to enjoy myself for once.

Halle has her mouth full. Gross!
